Gym Mat Fitting and Care Instructions
Fitting Instructions for for Solid Rubber, EVA and Rubber Top EVA Gym Mats
All of our mats for gyms are very easy to fit and are self-install. We do also have a professional installation team if you require sealed and bonded matting for your gymnasium.
To cut the mats, we recommend using a sharp Stanley knife or similar. Using a straight edge will give you the best finish.
This can be done by using the sides of another mat as a guide.
It is important that you leave a 10mm - 15mm gap around the outside edge of the stable to allow the mats to settle and expand in high temperatures. If you fail to leave a gap, you may experience the mats lifting up slightly. If this happens, you can trim the mats retrospectively.
Please note that in very hot temperatures the mats may expand more than normal and may require regular trimming. In which case, please trim the mats to leave enough expansion space each time.
The thinner the mat, the more they will be affected by the heat. The thicker the mats, the more hard wearing they will be.

Care and fitting of your Solid Rubber Gym Mats
Our rubber stable mats are heavy and may take 2 people to fit. If the mats required cutting we recommend using a sharp Stanley knife or a jig saw. Using a straight edge will give you the best finish.
When manufactured the molds for the rubber mats are lined with a grease to enable the mats to easily lift out.
The grease is not harmful or toxic however it can at first be slippery.
We recommend you wash the mats to remove any excess grease before use.
- These mats do not absorb moisture and are suitable for all cleaning products to be used on them.
- Once laid there is no risk of movement due to the weight of these mats.
